OUR NEW HOME

Houston Hair was born in 2005 when Simon Houston opened his first salon on Mill Street in Ballymena. What started as a small salon has grown into an award-winning hairdressing business with a loyal clientele and a team who share Simon’s passion for exceptional hair.

Two years later, Houston Hair moved to larger premises in Galgorm, where Simon spent the next 15 years building the salon and its reputation.

But after years of renting, Simon always had a bigger dream — to find a property that could become Houston Hair’s forever home.

Then, in 2022, a beautiful 1920s red-brick Victorian townhouse on a tree-lined street in the heart of Ballymena came onto the market.

Simon knew immediately.

This was it.

The house was full of character and had clearly lived a life before Houston Hair came along. There was plenty of work to do, but rather than being put off by the scale of the renovation, Simon saw it as the perfect creative challenge.

Six months later, on 28 October 2022, Houston Hair opened its doors in its new home for the very first time.

The vision was simple: restore the character, celebrate the original features and fill the house with colour, personality and creativity.

Today, the townhouse is home to four bespoke salon spaces, each with its own personality and plenty of unexpected details. From original features and statement interiors to beautiful artwork, song lyrics and Instagram-worthy corners, there is something new to discover around every corner.

Even the garden has been transformed into a relaxed, contemporary space — somewhere to pause, breathe and escape from the everyday.

This isn’t London.

This isn’t New York.

This is Houston Hair, Ballymena.
